Director of Health Systems Strategy

As Director of Health System Strategy for Shields, Chris is responsible for oversight of specialty pharmacy services developed for health systems. In that role, he works with clinical pharmacists, pharmacy leaders and executive teams to create strategies for starting and growing health-system-owned specialty pharmacies.  In addition, Chris helps the health system expand the scope of existing clinical pharmacy services as well as develop scholarly opportunities within the health system.

Before joining Shields, Chris served in increasing roles of responsibility within Emory Healthcare, including Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Residency Program Director and Clinical Manager, while also serving as adjunct faculty for Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Emory University School of Medicine.  Chris has earned fellowship status in both the American College of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Chris received his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Rhode Island, and completed post graduate residency training at Saint Joseph’s HealthCare and the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.
