John Lucey has dedicated over a decade to building Shields Health Solutions into the market-leading partner for health systems looking to develop their specialty pharmacy programs. John’s vision and leadership has transformed how specialty pharmacy is delivered, driving improved clinical, operational, and financial outcomes while providing enhanced care at a lower cost to the most critically ill patients. During his tenure leading Shields, John has been instrumental in developing the clinical care model, setting the strategic vision, and scaling the business model across the country to over 1,000 hospitals today.
John believes business is a team sport. His team-oriented, coaching-forward management style has helped develop countless next-generation leaders. John’s leadership resulted in a strategic partnership with Walgreens, which will continue to expand the organization’s capabilities and strengthen the services provided to hospital partners. He continues to lead the strategic direction of the business, working alongside Walgreens leadership to drive growth for our partners’ specialty pharmacy programs and develop new ways to deliver value to health systems and the patients they serve.
Prior to Shields, John held several leadership positions with NFP-Thorbahn and Shields Healthcare Group. John is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.
John and his family reside in Massachusetts and in his free time you’ll find him at the beach with his family or a local ball field cheering on his three kids.
