George Chresand
CHIEF LEGAL COUNSEL
As Chief Legal Counsel, George oversees all legal matters across the company while closely collaborating with all departments to ensure that Shields’ strategic objectives are legally advanced. It’s George’s role to ensure that Shields is a leader in integrity in supporting our partners and their patients.
With over four decades of legal experience, including more than 30 years in the healthcare sector, George’s previous roles include serving as the Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel for ExceleraRx, LLC, and Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Fairview Health Services, as well as working in private legal practice and mergers and acquisitions. During his tenure at Fairview, he established the organization’s initial compliance and privacy programs and contributed to the development of its ambulatory pharmacy program.
George earned a degree in Philosophy and Accounting from the University of St. Thomas and a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. With his extensive legal and healthcare experience, George is a valuable member of the Shields team, providing legal guidance to ensure that the company operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
