Chief Quality Assurance Officer
As Chief Quality Assurance Officer, Bill works with all of Shields’ partner health systems to support their specialty pharmacies. To do so, Bill created the “Legendary Care” program at Shields, bringing best practices to the clinics, physician and patients. Working closely with administration on the value proposition encompassing cost, quality and outcomes. The Legendary Care Program will be supported by a Quality Assurance Team lead by Bill, that will provide educational forums that will help optimize patient care and experience.
Bill brings 39 years of healthcare experience, having most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Shields Health Care Group, a regional provider of MRI, PET/CT and Radiation Oncology services. In that role, he was responsible for establishing numerous joint ventures in all facets of Shields Health Care Group’s divisions, starting new service lines and ensuring the highest quality for standards, effective resource alignment, measurement, and accountability.
He joined Shields Health Care Group in 1992, hired to lead the Marketing and Quality Assurance division. Prior to then, Bill worked at E.I. Du Pont de Nemours for 12 years holding positions in global product management, marketing and sales.
Bill went to school at the University of Maine in Orono and graduated with a bachelor of science degree. He was also captain of the University of Maine Black Bears hockey team his junior and senior years.
